Comment: I think it is very important to use assessment to help improve the instruction teachers give to students because we need to know what our students are learning or are not understanding. We may think we are getting something across, but we could be totally wrong. As teachers we need to be constantly assessing our students to help improve our teaching. By improving our teaching, this in turn will help improve our students' learning.
Question: What are different ways that we can assess to help improve our teaching to our students?
We can assess in formal ways, but also informal. We need to make sure that we are making observations and making notes about students' that help us improve our teaching strategies. Also another way we could assess that is different than a test, is a portfolio where students' gather their best work then review it at the end of the year.
